AET Joins China British Business Council
 We
are very pleased to announce that Advanced Ergonomic
Technologies Ltd has joined the China British Business
Council to further enhance the awareness of the concepts
we offer and to improve communication in the Far East
regarding Sustainable Office Design.
A conference was held in London this month at which
Peter Mandelson EU Commissioner for External Trade,
Digby,Lord Jones of Birmingham,Terry Hill- Chairman of
Arup and HE Mme Fu Ying the Chinese Ambassador gave
their views on the need to consider Sustainability and
latest Technologies to safeguard the Planet and indeed
the Human Race.
AET is involved with the supply of underfloor air
conditioning raised access floor and demountable
partitions for major projects in Hong Kong ,Shanghai,Beijing
and Southern China.
The CENTER in Hong Kong is 350m high. It is one of the 4
main landmark buildings on Hong Kong Island and houses
10 000 people and is served throughout by the Hiross
Flexible Space System supported by AET.
The Building received the first Hong Kong Green Award to
existing Buildings
It seems that every day now the world is paying more and
more attention to the Environment, world resources and
energy consumption and we at AET can demonstrate that
our solutions can make a considerable positive
contribution in these matters.
Britain is a major partner and well regarded for taking
an important lead in development of sustainable and
efficient buildings and as the growth in China
continues, higher standards of performance will be
demanded by users and by legislation. The sooner
Sustainable design can be incorporated the better it
will be for the whole world.
The Global Village is here. Global companies and brands
make living standards similar in many parts of the world
and these are most noticeable in High Class Hotels,
Fashion and Retail. Commercial offices still vary
greatly in standard but bearing in mind the resources
and energy consumed in building and running commercial
space it is essential that we discard poor quality as
soon as possible in favour of eco friendly solutions.
Leading British Consultants are paving the way in the
Far East and there is no doubt that British Know How is
respected and well regarded.
I hear so many people suggesting that we must all act
now to "Save the Planet". I have been saying for many
years that the Planet was here long before the Dinosaurs
roamed and will be here long after the Human Race has
become extinct. The Planet is fine. Our task is to take
action to "Save the Human Race and all other living
species be they animal or vegetable" we are creating a
delicate balance between consumption and survival. When
more people think this way I think more people will
regard the issues with greater seriousness and a greater
sense of urgency.
We are looking forward now to the Celebration of the
Olympic Games in Beijing. Some of the finest Architects
Engineers and Construction Companies have applied latest
technology and innovation to create the most astounding
array of beautiful buildings and many of these are
British. I hope this will be a huge success not only in
immediate enjoyment but also in the furthering of peace
and understanding across the world. I learnt from my
Chinese colleagues the importance of Harmony and more
than ever now we need Harmony amongst nations and a new
Harmony with our own Planet.
