Prolific Polyflor floors new Wythenshawe unit
 A
variety of sheet vinyl floorcoverings from commercial
flooring specialist Polyflor Ltd – including polish-free
heavy duty floors, low maintenance safety floors and
sports flooring – have been installed throughout The
Nightingale and Genesis Prevention Centre at
Manchester’s Wythenshawe Hospital.
Heavy duty Polyflor Prestige PUR and Polyflor Mystique
PUR in various shades are featured in corridors, with
wood effect Forest FX sheet vinyl in all consulting and
office areas and maple effect Polyflor Sport in the
gymnasium.
The flooring was installed by flooring contractor
Advanced Flooring Technology who also fitted Polysafe
Hydro and Polysafe Corona sheet vinyl safety flooring in
the centre’s showers and toilets.
Ideally suited to busy health care environments,
non-directionally styled Polyflor Prestige PUR and
Polyflor Mystique PUR both feature a high quality
polyurethane reinforcement which, combined with a
superior closed surface finish, facilitates a low cost,
polish-free maintenance regime for the lifetime of the
floorcovering, achieving cost savings of up to 48%.
Both also achieve the highest possible `A’ rating over a
60 year service life under the BRE Green Guide to
Specification product certification scheme.
Timber effect Forest FX sheet vinyl is targeted
primarily at the health care sector, offers 14 of the
most widely specified wood colours and features a
polyurethane reinforcement (PUR), which protects the
floor during installation and handover and also
facilitates a polish-free maintenance regime.
Polyflor Sport 67 multipurpose indoor sports flooring is
widely specified for use in sports halls, gymnasia and
leisure centres and provides the underfoot resilience
and long life demanded by such high traffic
applications.
Specially developed for continually wet/barefoot areas,
Polysafe Hydro conforms to EN 13845 Barefoot and
features a special textured “pimple” emboss which is
ideal for walk-in showers, indoor pool surrounds,
changing rooms and hydrotherapy areas.
Polysafe Corona incorporates Supratec+, the second
generation of Polyflor’s unique soil releasing polymer
system, now including polyurethane for reduced dirt pick
up, even easier maintenance and cleaning cost savings of
up to 60% over traditional safety flooring.
Both safety floors combine the use of coloured quartz,
aluminium oxide and silicone carbide particles
throughout the product thickness to provide sustained
slip resistance for their guaranteed life, with strict
adherence to HSE Guidelines.
All Polyflor heavy duty and Polysafe safety
floorcoverings have been independently tested and
results demonstrate that they inhibit the growth of MRSA.
An effective cleaning regime is however, the most
important defence against infection. In
addition, all Polyflor sheet vinyls can be welded at the
seams and to coved skirtings to create continuous
impervious surfaces which offer no sanctuary to dirt and
bacteria.
