T.I. Dynamic Facades launches Aerolite Granite
 T.I.
Dynamic Facades has launched a granite option of its
Aerolite lightweight stone façade system, expanding the
potential for granite in building design because the
material can be easily installed at a greater height
whilst maintaining system integrity and performance.
As with all Aerolite systems, a unique reinforced
backing allows the stone to be sliced much thinner than
the 40mm required for traditional stone cladding. In the
case of granite, the stone is sliced to between 6mm and
15mm and bonded to a glass fibre, aluminium or aluminium
honeycomb backing. By reducing the amount of granite
required, Aerolite brings down the system purchase cost
and also helps minimise on-site labour time,
collectively making it the most affordable stone
cladding on the market.
The carefully developed manufacturing process of
Aerolite granite delivers excellent strength
characteristics, enabling it to perform particularly
well where weight is critical to the façade design
criteria. Moreover, the high quality finish combined
with practical benefits, such as ease of installation,
makes Aerolite granite suitable for use in both internal
and external cladding applications.

because of the premium finish it delivers. Making it
available as a lightweight Aerolite system makes it a
commercially realistic option for developments where
granite might have previously been out of budget.”
To accommodate flexibility in style and design, the
granite panels can be produced in a wide range of sizes,
with the only limitation being the block size of the
stone required. To preserve the aesthetics of the
system, T.I. Dynamic Facades offers bespoke sections for
edge, sill, copings and other specific detail
requirements.
Aerolite granite has been tested at Taylor Woodrow
Technology Centre to CWCT (Centre for Window and
Cladding Technology) guidelines for wind and load impact
testing, and been shown to meet BS Standards.
