UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK TAKES A DEGREE OF MODULAR CONSTRUCTION
The University of Warwick has commissioned Britspace Modular
Buildings to commence construction of its new £1.6m nursery
facility.
The 770 sq m facility is designed to provide a Very Good BREEAM
rating making it very environmentally friendly.
It will house three key areas including a student cafeteria, a
children's centre for 3-5 year olds and a nursery for 0-3 year olds,
bringing all ages together under one roof. The three areas will be
clearly identified by a variety of different claddings including
three distinct shades of timber.
The new building will be handed over in August following a 12 week
site programme.
Mark Graham, Business Development Manager for Education commented:
"We are delighted to be involved with the University's campus
redevelopment programme.
“Our close working relationship with the University, from concept
through to handover, will ensure that they benefit from all of the
advantages of modular construction, including minimum disruption on
site
and a rapid construction programme.
“Britspace's main strength on this project is its flexibility to
match exactly what the client's architect had designed.”
Britspace is currently working on a £6 million project to construct
a total of 19 Children’s Centres in the south of England.
