SALUS LAUNCHES SOLAR HEATING SYSTEMS WITH A DIFFERENCE
 Fully
committed to developing energy efficient products that are in
keeping with sustainability and a responsibility for the future,
leading heating controls manufacturer, Salus, has launched Solar
Nova, a unique range of solar thermal heating systems. This follows
the creation of a new division - Salus Solar – established to
exploit the growing market for renewable energies.
In keeping with Salus’ reputation for innovation and uncompromising
quality, the new three-model range offers a complete solar hot water
heating solution. Unlike other systems available, it has been
specifically designed with the installer in mind and boasts a unique
and advanced array of system packages, complete with every component
necessary for simple and speedy installation.
Efficient and affordable, Solar Nova also boasts a free full system
design and quotation service that is available via selected
merchants, together with clean air project analysis. Solar
installation training courses are also available at Salus’ new
headquarters.
Commenting on the company’s debut in the solar heating sector,
newly-appointed Director of Sustainable Energy, Simon Day, said:
“Whilst many merchants and installers appreciate the benefits of
solar heating, they are phased by the complexity of systems and the
numerous costly peripherals associated with these products.”
Simon continues: “The Solar Nova range is based on the Salus ethos
of simplicity, expertise and value and our system packages are
designed to make life as easy as possible for merchants and
installers. From the initial quotation to specification,
installation and even the after sales care where we offer unrivalled
technical back-up and customer support, simplicity is our number one
priority.”
The low capital costs of Solar Nova combined with the
ever-increasing costs of carbon-based fuels, make this form of water
heating an economical and environmentally-friendly proposition for
most households. As well as saving up to 350kg of CO2 per year, it
is anticipated that just one Solar Nova panel will provide up to 70%
of domestic hot water.
Roof mounted and using solar thermal technology, the Solar Nova
range comprises three high efficiency vacuum tube collectors,
together with a slimline conventional flat plate panel.
The vacuum tube collector models provide greater performance in
cloudy and windy conditions and also offer a higher degree of
insulation resulting in improved durability. They are also
aesthetically more appealing as they cover less area on the roof.
