CEMBRIT OFFERS FIRE RATED BUILDING BOARD AND CEILING TILES
 Cembrit,
specialist in internal and external cladding boards, has announced
details of its non-combustible internal lining board. ‘Cembrit FR’
is an A1 fire rated board, combining fire-protection, lightweight
construction and high impact strength to create a versatile internal
building board.
Exclusively available in the UK from Cembrit’s network of stockists,
Cembrit FR internal wall lining is a superior quality option for
dry-lining than plasterboard as it has far better fire and impact
resistance. The board comes ready holed to improve installation
speed, is easy to decorate and is available in either chamfered or
bevelled options. Standard pre-cut tile formats are also available
for use in suspended or traditional ceiling constructions. Cembrit
FR is also suitable for use as flooring baseboard especially in
multi-storey buildings.
“Cembrit FR is an extremely versatile product” explains Ged Ferris,
marketing manager for Cembrit. “The board offers resistance to wear
and tear, non-combustibility, sound insulation and the ability to
withstand high-temperatures. We have a number of written
specifications available which incorporate Cembrit FR, allowing
designers to achieve specific fire or sound resistance targets. It
has been installed in schools, offices, public buildings, portable
buildings and chemical processing plants. In fact, anywhere with
upgraded performance requirements!”
Cembrit FR is produced from a mixture of cement, cellulose and
mineral fillers and is strong, durable, long lasting with minimum
associated maintenance costs. Using skills built up over 80 years,
Cembrit offers a wide range of cladding panels, corrugated sheet and
natural and man-made roofing slate. Quality levels at Group
factories are rigorously maintained to high standards with many
products manufactured under the control of ISO 9001 and British
Board of Agrément. Cembrit is a member of the Dansk Eternit Holding
A/S Group of Denmark, one of Europe’s major building material
producers of fibre reinforced cement products for the roofing and
cladding industry. The ultimate parent company FL Smith this year
celebrates its 125 year anniversary.
