Designs Live, the UK’s no. 1 consumer show for design, build,
interiors, home-wares, gardens, kitchens, bathrooms and innovation
returns to the NEC, Birmingham for a third year and promises to be
bigger and better than ever.
The multi award-winning show remains the only contemporary design
exhibition, offering visitors the chance to buy, build and furnish a
house, all under one roof. This year sees even more features,
celebrities and expert advice than ever before.
One ticket provides visitors with access to six inspiring shows:
GRANDInteriors: Whether you’re after creative ideas for your home or
want to learn more the about the latest trends in home interiors
you’ll find it at the GRANDInteriors section of the show. Over 100
contemporary design-led exhibitors from all over the world will be
there offering a sneak preview of some of the best gadgets and
technology on the market. Free interior design advice will be on
offer as well as the chance to experience what life will be like in
homes of the future.
GRANDKitchens: The UK’s only consumer event dedicated to kitchens,
GRANDKitchens will be showcasing the newest, most advanced and
stylish kitchens from a host of top manufacturers. This year,
celebrity chefs will be ‘road testing’ some of the most cutting edge
kitchens on the market.
GRANDBathrooms: Encompassing more bathrooms than any other show
GRANDBathrooms incorporates cutting-edge design with the hottest new
technology including energy-saving sustainable bathrooms.
GRANDShopping: If you can’t resist snapping up the latest
furnishings, must-have accessories or innovative technology, make
sure you pay a visit to the Design Shopping Arcade. With hundreds of
products on offer to suit all styles and budgets, there’s guaranteed
to be something for everyone.
GRANDBuild: The biggest and most comprehensive self-build show in
the UK, GRANDBuild helps guide visitors through every step of the
build process, from sourcing land and planning to construction and
fittings. The show offers visitors advice on how to build your own
home sustainably, whilst experts in traditional techniques, such as
building with straw, timber and earth, will be demonstrating their
skills.
GRANDGardens: Learn how to transform outdoor spaces and be inspired
at the GRANDGardens show. Browse through hundreds of garden products
from outdoor rooms, hot tubs and water features, to plants,
furniture and accessories. Explore the Eden Project-style Flower
Domes full of exotic plants you can buy. Garden designers will also
be on hand with advice on how to make the best of your outdoor
space.
Other interactive features include the Celebrity Chef Kitchens,
where top TV chefs ‘road test’ the sleekest new kitchens whilst
cooking up gourmet dishes and Face Fabric – a bespoke sofa
upholstered using photographs of visitors’ faces!
Free seminars will also be taking place at the show, including
lectures and discussions covering topics such as planning, design,
ecology and finance. The schedule covers the six key elements of the
show and includes an exciting line up of TV stars, industry experts
and Grand Designers from the TV programme. Seminars will include
‘Design Crimes’, ‘How To Manage A New Build With A Full Time Job’
and ‘Go Green, Get Rich’.
Since its launch in 2005, the show has gone from strength to
strength. Based on Channel 4’s successful show fronted by design
guru, Kevin McCloud, the event brings together over 500 exhibitors.
