£59 MILLION PROJECT CAPS AN OUTSTANDING FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
FOR ISG JACKSON
 Set against the backdrop of the ‘credit crunch’ and growing economic
uncertainty, Ipswich-based main contractor, ISG Jackson, is bucking
the trend with a record £170 million forward order book extending
into 2010. The construction company is also celebrating after being
selected as the preferred contractor for one of Suffolk’s largest
ever projects - the £59 million South West Ipswich and South Suffolk
(SWISS) Sixth Form Centre.
ISG Jackson is one of Ipswich’s largest employers and part of ISG,
an international provider of new build, refurbishment, fit out and
project management services with a £1 billion turnover. Since its
acquisition by ISG in 2005, ISG Jackson has been a consistently
strong performer within the group, delivering impressive year on
year growth in turnover, profitability and its forward order book.
Long term growth and visibility is key to the continuing success of
the business, with the contractor already securing some 85 per cent
of its budget for the current financial year, which only commenced
at the start of July.
The business has announced plans to open two new regional offices
this year, one in Kent and a location in Cambridgeshire, to help
support its ambitions to secure increasing opportunities within the
South East region and across Cambridgeshire. The contractor is
already enjoying considerable success in Kent and is currently
working on a £19 million retirement village set within the 450 acre
Mote Park estate, which is scheduled for completion towards the end
of next year.
ISG Jackson has also recently secured a £6.6 million project to
upgrade and enhance perinatal facilities at Homerton University
Hospital in Hackney and a £9.4 million scheme to build a new
Operations Centre at the Hanningfield Treatment Works facility close
to Chelmsford in Essex. Specialist division, ISG Jackson Special
Projects, is also involved in numerous key note schemes, including
its high profile £4 million Princes Street office development in
central Ipswich and contracts valued at over £1.5 million at
Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. The division is also adding to
its expanding trophy cabinet, recently securing a national
architectural RIBA award for its Wysing Arts Centre in Bourn,
Cambridge.
