 When maximising the use of space, DORMA, the world’s leading
supplier of highly advanced movable wall solutions, offers a range
of products suited to all applications – classrooms, hospitals,
offices or leisure – indeed any environment where one large area
needs to be partitioned into several smaller ones.
Modern interior architecture increasingly incorporates the movable
wall concept to deliver the flexible use of space and allow
long-term, sustainable use. The benefit of “designing this in” also
enables heating and lighting costs to be controlled - an important
carbon footprint issue.
In many applications, movable walls are required not only to provide
a visual and functional division but also to isolate sound passing
from one to another in order to avoid annoying interference between
and across adjacent rooms. When events are held concurrently,
reliable sound insulation is crucial.
DORMA’s intelligent movable wall systems offer the very best in room
layout efficiency and acoustic performance. The range comprises
three key products; its flagship system, MOVEO, Variflex, and
Variplan.
DORMA’s top of the range movable wall system, MOVEO, represents a
new generation of high specification partitioning products. Highly
innovative, lightweight construction is complemented by superb
performance and aesthetic characteristics. Positioning is effortless
and extremely fast; thanks to the ComforTronic control System the
need for trained personnel to operate the system is alleviated.
Integrated track switches and curves mean the elements can be guided
safely and smoothly. MOVEO is ideal for high specification
requirements, where the ultimate in movable wall deliverables are
required.
With its many design and constructional variants, MOVEO provides a
wide choice of elements and stacking/parking arrangements. Its high
level of flexibility, even in the case of complicated room
proportions where sloping ceilings or circular spaces have to be
accommodated, ensures all the benefits of optimum functionality.
With several extensive collections to choose from, there are no
limits to the individual surface finishes that can be incorporated.
From genuine wood veneers to decor surfaces and even functional
finishes encorporating magnetic and projection surfaces, DORMA
offers a wide range of high-quality solutions to meet the highest
expectations.
In situations where a wall above 4.5m is required then DORMA’s
Variflex system can be used . Where additional sound insulation is
required the Variflex TOP120 features the highest lab tested sound
insulation levels available, to 60 dB.
The Variflex system is also fire rated. In the event of a fire, a
rated partition in its closed condition can provide invaluable
protection to emergency exits, and escape and rescue routes in
general. In their closed and clamped condition, Variflex partitions
can offer standard fire resistance for up to 90 minutes.
Variplan is a folding wall product, which allows room adaptation in
just a few moments. It is double skin constructed and has good heat
insulating properties. Even sophisticated concepts for variable
utilisation of space can be easily accommodated using this system,
which is ideal for public buildings such as churches, homes for the
elderly, schools and a wide range of applications. Variplan is also
ideal for retrofit environments.
