Westminster Academy, London

The modernist Westminster Academy in the heart of London is a perfect illustration of creative ceiling and wall design using coloured Heradesign panels. To contrast with the drab urban surroundings, the architects placed the emphasis on vibrant colours for both the exterior and interior of the building. A palate of light and dark green printed wood-wool panels have been used to create a calm, quiet environment for learning, making the most of the panels’ acoustic properties.

Scuola dell Infanzia, Rome

To create a warm and bright atmosphere that would appeal to young children, architect Francesca Daffinà placed special emphasis on the use of colour when designing the interior of this Roman nursery school. In addition to coloured walls, furniture and fittings, Heradesign’s decorative panels were used to bring an unusual splash of vibrant colour to the ceilings - 720 m2 of magnesite-bound wood-wool panels in 16 different colours create a light, vibrant effect, with contrasting light and dark colours conveying the impression of a rainbow arching across the ceiling. The acoustic benefits of the Heradesign panels also play an important role in absorbing sound in what is usually a noisy environment, and the natural wood and magnesite materials were the perfect choice for those wanting an eco-friendly environment for their children.

Picasso Restaurant, Gijón

Heradesign’s wood-wool panels are available in almost every colour shade imaginable, including all the standard colour systems such as RAL, NCS and the StoColor System. In addition to these standard tones, the decorative panels are also available in two glossy metallic shades and can be personalised through the use of artistic designs.

The Picasso Restaurant in the Spanish Gijón provides a good example of the effective use of coloured, printed Heradesign acoustic panels. The panels used on the restaurant ceiling were specially created to show various designs reminiscent of Picasso’s style, featuring a vibrant mix of colours and shapes. These highly personalised panels have become an eye-catching feature, creating a unique and fitting ambiance for the Picasso Restaurant.
