West of Scotland-based firm Thomas Robinson Architects has appointed three new members of staff including the award-winning Graham Wylie, along with Natasha Houchin from Young and Gault and 3D-modelling specialist Jaroslav Kalousek from the Czech Republic.

Thomas Robinson says: “We have added three very diverse members to our team, who each bring a very unique skill set. Graham’s experience is second to none, whilst Natasha has worked internationally and Jaroslav has a particular talent for 3D-modelling. Each of them is a real asset and they will be assisting us to develop the business in to new areas.”

Graham Wylie joined the firm having practiced independently for 23 years. He has won various awards for his projects including The Adelphi Centre in Glasgow which is the result of a joint venture by Glasgow City Council, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and the European Regional Development Fund, to bring the once derelict former Adelphi Secondary School back into productive use with facilities relevant to the present day social and economic challenges facing the local area. Another of Graham’s award-winning projects includes the 1988 Garden Festival held in the Prince’s Dock (Govan) in Glasgow. It was one of a series of large-scale national garden events which was designed to turn derelict areas around Britain into more useful places.

Ugandan-born Natasha Houchin joins Thomas Robinson from Glasgow-based Young and Gault LLP. Having spent eight years working in Canada for Greg Aitken Partnership in Toronto, Natasha has built up an impressive portfolio in the healthcare sector, and is a strong believer in sustainability and in designing ‘healthy buildings’.

Jaroslav Kalousek, originally came to Scotland having won a scholarship with the University of Strathclyde where he is studying towards his degree in Architecture. Currently living in Glasgow and in his 4th year of study, Jaroslav will return to the Czech Republic next year to complete his studies back home. He is hoping to specialise in residential housing and has also completed a degree in Engineering.

Thomas Robinson Architects is a young architectural practice based in Blanefield, North of Glasgow. It was established in 1999 by husband and wife team Thomas and Fiona, and offers a diverse range of skills and experience.
