Capitalising on the experience and expertise of its designers, Levolux has pioneered a method for manufacturing a bespoke design of its highly effective Curved Timber Fins to give even the most imaginative building a Solar Shading Solution. To achieve a perfect, smooth appearance, the Fins are carefully cut and engineered to a compound angle, allowing them to flow seamlessly around the face of the structure.

A highly sustainable and eco-friendly solution, the system works in just the same way as Aluminium Fins, by significantly reducing solar heat gain within the building. This in turn virtually eliminates the need for air-conditioning, cutting costs and carbon emissions.

On top of this, all materials used by Levolux are sourced sustainably. In particular, all timber products are certified to show that they come from well managed forests with a full ‘chain of custody’. Typically, the company would advise on the use of Western Red Cedar timber. This popular, durable wood is lightweight and also requires no application of a finish. Over time, the wood ages with a silver-grey patina providing long-lasting good looks. Other woods to be considered include Siberian Larch, European Oak and Thermowood.

As with Levolux’s traditional Timber Fins, the system is fitted with stainless steel fixings. Corrosion-resistant and virtually maintenance free, the system is built to last.
