SES expands north east office
 SES,
one of the UK’s leading providers of building services solutions,
has announced it has increased staff numbers at its north east
office by a further seven.
The appointments, which have been necessary due to a number of
prestigious contract wins, are across a range of positions including
four apprentices. They also form part of an ongoing programme of
growth planned for the north east office which has been in place
since it opened in 2003.
Peter Lowry from Newcastle has joined as a senior project Engineer,
Lee Mitchell from Cumbria and Lee White from Teesside, have both
joined as project Engineers, each bringing valuable experience to
their new roles.
Speaking about his new appointment, Peter Lowry commented:
“Once offered the position of senior project Engineer with SES I had
no hesitation whatsoever in accepting. To work with one of the major
players in the mechanical and electrical services industry is both
exciting and challenging and I am very much looking forward to
making a positive contribution to the team.”
With an excellent track record in recruiting and training a high
number of apprentices throughout its nine UK offices, the north east
has contributed by employing four more this year and welcomes James
Campbell and Brian Lawson who are both studying in the electrical
services field while Max Prior and Matthew Bennett are training in
the mechanical services field.
According to operations director Steve Joyce, SES’s north east
office has created some 80 jobs since it opened and is on track to
create a further 30 during 2008/9 as turnover continues to grow from
this year’s £16million to an anticipated £20million.
He said:
“I am delighted to welcome all of our new employees to an
experienced team in the north east. As we continue to win work
across a number of sectors such as education, pharmaceutical and
leisure to maintain the high level of service delivery our clients
have come to expect, we need to recruit experienced people. However,
to address the ongoing situation of a shortage of skilled labour
within the construction industry it is in everyone’s best interests
for us to continue with our very successful apprenticeship scheme.”
SES trainee’s benefit from both classroom training at Leeds
Metropolitan University where, because of the number of trainees it
employs each year, SES has its own dedicated courses as well as
onsite training on the many projects we have underway in the region.
