The Duke of Westminster officially opens One
Park West
 One Park West, Grosvenor’s flagship residential
development in the centre of Liverpool, has been
officially opened by the Duke of Westminster.
The ceremony, which included the cutting of a ribbon
across the entrance to the building and the unveiling of
a plaque to commemorate the occasion on Thursday 18
December, included pupils from St Vincent de Paul
Catholic Primary School who took part in a competition
to create pictures of One Park West.
The winning entry, by 10-year-old Patrick Graham from
Year 5, will be permanently displayed in One Park West’s
atrium. Patrick also helped the Duke officially open the
building by helping to cut the ribbon and unveil a
special plaque to mark the occasion. The seven runners
up, one from each year group at the school, had their
entries displayed in the atrium of One Park West during
the opening ceremony.
One Park West is the landmark residential building in
Grosvenor's Liverpool ONE 42 acre redevelopment of
Liverpool. Standing at 17 storeys high, and comprising
326 apartments, One Park West offers outstanding
waterfront, Park and city vistas. With easy access to
Liverpool's lifestyle and cultural attractions,
including Tate Liverpool and the Echo Arena, this is the
most desired address in the city.
Opening One Park West, the Duke of Westminster said,
"This building is probably the most precious in
Liverpool ONE - the jewel in the crown. It's the most
prominent, right beside the park, visible from the new
arena, conference centre and Albert Dock. It will be an
easily recognisable and prestigious address."
He added, "I am very pleased to see this building
complete ahead of schedule, it was in fact due next
March. The success of this development is very important
to my family and I. Liverpool is very close to our home
in Chester and we wanted to make a significant
investment. We hope we have made a real difference
especially in attracting visitors to the city".
Guy Butler, Projects Director at Grosvenor comments, “We
are delighted to be receiving the keys to One Park West
from contractors Laing O’Rourke before Christmas and
ahead of schedule. We wanted the official opening of the
building to be something special not just for the city
and those waiting to move in, but also to the local
community. As the only school in L1 whose pupils will
see One Park West grow into an icon on the waterfront,
St Vincents was the perfect school to ask for help to
capture this moment in history”.
Estate agent King Sturge is handling the sale of
apartments in One Park West. The firm's residential
partner in Liverpool, Martyn Green, says the development
is continuing to buck the national trend of property
downturn, remaining one of the best sellers on the King
Sturge's books nationally.
"Property in general across the whole of the country is
experiencing some very turbulent times and Liverpool is
not exempt from that, but One Park West has bucked that
trend. This is the best selling development we have in
King Sturge in Liverpool and even nationally."
