Staff at Hudson Group got in the fast lane recently when they took part in the inaugural Hudson Cup go-karting competition.

Over 30 members of staff geared up and made their way to the Scot Kart indoor circuit in Clydebank for an enthralling afternoon of racing and fun. Ten highly competitive teams competed in a non-stop, flat out, action packed, one and a half hour race.

Ross Flanagan, Mick Kernahan and Arthur Neely secured the coveted first place and won a bottle of champagne and medals for the team. A close second were Calum Brown, Robert Bell and Jason Smith and the final place on the podium went to Kevin Shiach, Stevie Shaw and John Anderson.

Stewart Brown, Managing Director at Hudson which is part of the McKean Group, said: “A fantastic day was had by all. The event encouraged great team spirit and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time. It gave the team at Hudson a chance to get to know each other outside the work environment and helped bring out positive qualities in the racing teams.

“The day itself was a great success and with the go-karts getting up to 45mph the race was thrilling to watch. I’m sure that everyone will want to take part again next year.”
