KSS Designs for Tottenham Hotspurs
 KSS are delighted to announce that it is progressing design
proposals for a new 55-60,000 stadium for Tottenham Hotspur Football
Club as part of a wider Northumberland Development Project master
plan in North Tottenham, London N17.
The brief given to KSS by THFC chairman Daniel Levy was to design an
iconic stadium incorporating modern state of the art facilities,
with priority to be given to recreating the intense atmosphere of
the current White Hart Lane Stadium, providing fans with the best
possible spectator experience.
Commenting on the proposals, KSS Chairman David Keirle said "The
stadium design concept aims to capture the essence of the Spurs
identity, and the flowing lines of the aluminium shingle cladding,
gracefully undulating roof profile and subtle use of club colours in
the external materials choices evokes the Spurs tradition of doing
things with style and panache.
The seating will be much closer to the pitch than other stadia of
comparable size, and the roof profile and enclosed corners will
ensure that vocal support from the crowd is focussed back into the
bowl and onto the pitch. The under slung roof structure designed by
Buro Happold will support up to four giant screens in the corners to
further enhance the fans match day experience".
The development master plan prepared by Make will include a Club
museum, shops and homes, new facilities for the Tottenham Hotspur
Foundation and important public space. The development strategy will
allow THFC to remain at its current home whilst phased construction
of the new stadium takes place, a move strongly supported by
Haringey Council, CABE and GLA.
