Glass processing specialist, Watsons Glass, has developed a stunning new process that will be a literal ‘ice breaker’ in any business meeting, or social gathering.

Known as ‘Cracked Ice’, the process involves laminating three sheets of glass together to make a single unit. The top and bottom sheets are laminated glass, whilst the middle sheet is toughened glass. Through a unique (and patented?) process Watsons then form a series of random and decorative ‘cracks’ in the middle sheet, which forms a stunning visual effect.

The upper and lower laminated glass sheets contain the ‘cracked’ middle sheet in perfect safety, presenting a totally smooth, unbroken outer surface.

The ‘Cracked Ice’ process works amazingly well for conference or board room tables, executive desks and corporate furniture, especially in instances where the furniture is used in conjunction with downlighters. In these situations, light reflected onto the glass surface is refracted from a myriad of random ‘ice cracks’, catching the eye, to provide a level of visual interest, never seen before in such types of commercially available business furniture.

Additionally, due to the inherent strength or the product, ‘Cracked Ice’ is also suitable for raised or featured flooring and when used in conjunction with under floor lighting, creates a visual focal point to any room area.
